No Nest for 2011 - Hopefully 2012

UPDATE   Unfortunately for the first time since Audrey began nesting at this site 8 years ago - she did not continue building her nest. Though she did place her infamous snakeskin and a few twigs - she did not resume the process.  She landed on the perch almost daily even as recent as June 16, 2011 8:00 am, est.  But again she only peered in while making a very high pitch sound.  The second flycatcher was always close by.

We are unsure at this point as to the reason she did not nest.  Cornell Lab speculated that was perhaps it was a different inexperienced flycatcher.  Without Audrey being banded - there is no way to know if it was truly her.  (Though personally I believe it was).  Our hope is things will be back to normal next year and we can enjoy watching her family as always.
